Adapt marketing for another language
Translate and adapt a business’s message for a different audience and culture. This course is in development.
Original course title & technical overview
Marketing Translation and Localization. Website and social copy translated and culturally adapted so it sells in the second language, not just reads: a glossary, a register decision, AI first drafts, a native-speaker check, and a hand-off the client can keep consistent.

2026 EDITIONWhat you can offer
Translate and adapt a business’s message for a different audience and culture. This course is in development.
Detailed deliverables
Marketing copy localized, not just translated: a website (5–8 pages), a month of social posts, a menu, a brochure or an email sequence, delivered with a term glossary, a style decision (formal vs informal address, regional variant), adaptation notes where a phrase or image would not land, SEO keywords in the target language, and a native-speaker review.
Tools (free plans have limits): DeepL (free tier) for a first machine pass, Claude or ChatGPT for adaptation, register and glossary consistency, A native speaker reviewer (you, or a reviewer you pay a share), Google Keyword Planner in the target language, Google Sheets: glossary and segment table
You will make
- A localization brief: audience, regional variant, register, what must not change (brand names, prices, legal lines)
- A glossary of 30–60 terms and a do-not-translate list
- A segment table: source, machine draft, adapted translation, notes, status
- Adapted copy for a site or campaign with cultural notes and target-language SEO keywords
- A native-speaker review log and a hand-off the client can use for future consistency

| Adaptation quality | Reads as a local business; idioms, examples, formats and offers adapted with notes; headlines rewritten, not translated |
| Consistency | Glossary enforced across pages and captions; register consistent per channel; no rejected alternatives present |
| Accuracy | Back-translation shows no drift in offers, prices or claims; brand names untouched; legal lines excluded with a recommendation |
| Delivery | Review log resolved, SEO fields complete, paste-ready pages, implementation tip for the platform, glossary handed over |
Honest expectations. Fluent in one language is not a translator; neither is DeepL. Sell pairs where you (or your reviewer) are native in the target language and strong in the source. Legal, medical and safety text need a certified translator; say so. The value you add is adaptation (what to change so it sells there) and consistency (one glossary, every page the same word for the same thing).
